Who is Barclaycard?



Barclaycard is part of the Barclays Bank Group, which has over 300 years of banking heritage, and has its headquarters in the UK. We are one of Europe's largest multi-brand credit card and consumer lending businesses. In 1966, our credit card was the first to be launched in the UK and we went on to produce the first all-purpose credit card in Europe.

Is Barclaycard part of Absa Bank



Barclaycard South Africa is a division of Absa Group Limited, of which the Barclays Group is a majority shareholder. The Absa Group is one of South Africa's largest financial services organisations in South Africa also providing products and services to selected markets internationally.

How can I apply for a Barclaycard?



Applying is easy, simply apply right here online by clicking on the apply now button or if you prefer call us on 0861 Barclays.



What should I do if my Barclaycard is lost or stolen?



Call us immediately on 0861 Barclays / 0861 227 25297 or if you are overseas on
+ 27 (0) 12 317 3012. We will block your card immediately to prevent any fraudulent transactions on your card. Keep these numbers with you in your cellphone or diary.



Where will my new card be sent?



Our courier will contact with you to arrange for delivery of your Barclaycard.  The courier will inform you of what documentation is required for purposes of identification and verification in accordance with the Financial Intelligence Centre Act.



Can I withdraw cash on my Barclaycard?



Yes, you can withdraw cash at over 600 000 ATMs which accept Visa card worldwide.



How do I get my Personal Identification Number (PIN) number?



For security reasons Your PIN number will be posted to you separately, to the postal address that you provided on your application form.



What should I do if I forget my PIN?



Please call our Customer Services team on 0861 Barclays and they will arrange for a new PIN to be posted to you.



Can my Barclaycard be used overseas?



Your Barclaycard Credit Card is an international symbol of respect, acceptance and recognition - respected in over 200 countries, accepted in over 24 million locations and recognized by over 600 000 ATMs and bank branches worldwide.

Does the Barclaycard credit card have an expiry date?



The Barclaycard is valid for a period of two years and will automatically be renewed on anniversary date, if the card is in good standing



How can I change my minimum payment?



If you want to change your minimum monthly payment please call our Customer Services team and they will adjust your debit order for you. You can choose to pay a fixed amount or the full balance outstanding. However if the fixed amount is less than your minimum payment, the minimum payment will be deducted..



How can I manage my credit limit?



At Barclaycard we want to put you in charge of your credit card. So if you want to speak to us about lowering your credit limit please call our Customer Services Team



What should I do if I see a transaction that I don't recognise on my statement?



If you have checked your slips against your statement and there is a transaction that is unfamiliar, then you must report this transaction immediately by calling Customer Services.



Can I get an add on card/secondary card for my Barclaycard?



Yes, and with Barclaycard there is no additional cost for the first two secondary cards. Just call our Customer Services team and they will help you arrange this.
